Ee.uu. despliega su nuevo dron de ataque lucas para enfrentar a irán

La creciente tensión entre Estados Unidos e Irán en el Golfo Pérsico ha llevado a Washington a desplegar un nuevo arma en su arsenal militar: el dron de ataque LUCAS, un dispositivo de un solo uso diseñado para enfrentar a los peligrosos drones kamikaze iraníes.

Desarrollado por la empresa SpektreWorks, especializada en Tecnología UAV, el LUCAS es un dron de ataque no tripulado de bajo costo capaz de realizar múltiples ataques aéreos con gran precisión y autonomía.

Con una envergadura de 2,4 metros y un peso vacío de casi 32 kg, el LUCAS es un dispositivo compacto y versátil que se puede lanzar desde la tierra o desde buques con impulsores neumáticos o cohetes asistidos.

Armed with a 215cc combustion engine and a rear propeller, the LUCAS boasts an impressive range and maneuverability, with a top speed of 115 mph and an endurance of up to six hours at a cruising speed of 63 mph.

Thanks to its advanced sensors and modular payload system, the LUCAS can adapt to various mission requirements and is designed to resist electronic warfare and jamming, making it a formidable opponent for Iranian drones like the Shahed-136 and Geran-2.

SpektreWorks has previously developed the FLM-136, but the company recognized the need for a more advanced solution to counter the growing threat from Iranian drone attacks, leading to the development of the LUCAS.

With the LUCAS now part of the US military's arsenal, the stage is set for an escalating drone war in the Middle East, as both sides seek to gain the upper hand in this new era of asymmetric conflict.
